7.Contract descriptionThe European Union through 11th EDF has allocated funds for technical assistance to support institutional capacity building of the roads subsector. This is complementary support to the Sector Budget Support operation that focuses on development and maintenance of rural roads in selected regions of Iringa, Mbeya and Njombe. It is a component of the Agri-connect programme aiming to promote the productivity, commercialization and competitiveness of the tea, coffee and horticulture sectors.The technical assistance is to ensure proper follow up, monitoring and reporting of the road sector budget support (SBS) component of the Agri-connect programme, to support the Tanzania Rural and Urban Road Agency (TARURA) and the Roads Fund Board (RFB) in achieving the expected results of the SBS component and to reinforce the institutional capacity of TARURA and RFB.
